BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please read prior to making your reservation

 

GENERAL

 

TRAVEL INSURANCE:

We Consider Travel Insurance to be essential for all bookings. Please ensure that you have insurance to cover cancellation for medical reasons or other unforseen events.

1. These terms and conditions are effective for departures from 1st January 2008 to 1st January 2010.

2. All charges and costs are expressed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are correct as at 31st December 2008.

3. The Company will only release travel documents, airline tickets, reservation confirmations etc upon payment of the full amount of charges and costs. All tickets, coupons, or orders are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which they are offered or supplied by the supplier of them.

4. The Company charges a deposit of 25% of total charges and costs which is payable to secure your booking. The Company reserves the right to cancel your booking if the deposit is (a) not paid within seven (7) days of booking or (b) the balance is not paid at least 60 days prior to departure.

CHANGES TO CHARGES AND COSTS:

5. The Company reserves the right to alter the charges or costs to you:
(a) where there are increases in any feature of your travel arrangements;
(b) where there are increases in prices over which the Company has no control
(c) where foreign currency, foreign airfares, foreign taxes or any other expense or charges payable overseas, changes to your disadvantage
(d) the Company may at its discretion, charge an amendment fee automatically of AUD $50.00 for any amendment.
(e) if, however, The Company incurs additional costs to change your booking, the Company will increase the cost of your tour for the same amount;. Amendments which alter air travel will also be subject to the conditions of the air fare.

DISCRETION TO CHANGE

6. The Company reserves the right to amend, make variations or cancel holidays or any part thereof. These terms and conditions shall constitute the sole contract between the Company and you. All tickets, coupons, or orders are issued subject to the terms and conditions under which they are offered or supplied.

CANCELLATION

7. The Company will comply with the following cancellation and refund policy if you cancel your travel arrangements for any reason
(a) More than 60 days before departure you will forfeit your deposit;
(b) less than 60 days before but more than 30 days before your departure you will forfeit 50% of our charges and costs;
(c) less than 30 days before departure but more than 14 days before your departure you will forfeit between 50% and 100% of our charges and costs;
(d) less than 14 days before departure you will forfeit 100% of our charges and costs.

8. Cancellation fees may vary for some products, please check when booking with Alaska Bound / Small Ship Adventure Company.

9. Cancellation charges cannot be waived there will be no exceptions. The Company is unable to make or arrange refunds on unused services after departure from original city of departure. Cancellation fees will apply in accordance with the airline’s regulations and laws of the country.

LEGAL LIABILITY OF THE COMPANY

10. Where the Company acts as agents only for those services provided on the itineraries, other than those owned by the Company. The Company shall not be liable for any injury, accident, delay or irregularity occasioned either through defects on the part of any conveyance, by acts of God, or through defaults on the part of any person or company engaged in conveying the passengers or in carrying out arrangements for these holidays otherwise in connection herewith. The Company reserves the right to amend, make variations or cancel holidays or any part thereof. The passage contract used shall constitute the sole contract.

LEGAL LIABILITY OF THIRD PARTIES

11. Participating airlines do not solely by virtue of their endorsement of this brochure or by appearing on or in this or any brochure issued by the Company, represent themselves either as contracting with you or the arrangements from the Company or as having any other legal relationship with you. The Company reserves the right to increase the price of any travel arrangements up to the date of departure. This includes adjustments for devaluation, fuel surcharges, air-fare increases as well as international exchange rate fluctuation.

12. A booking is accepted only after the company receives the deposit and issues the client or their travel agent, confirmation invoices. The balance must be paid no later than 60 days prior to departure otherwise the company will treat the booking as cancelled regardless of whether a deposit is being held.

ALTERATIONS TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

13. Only the Company or its employees are authorized to change any of these terms or conditions and in particular no persons or corporations outside Australia overseas have been authorized to make any changes to these terms and conditions.
